Read the following text and write a brief comment on it (50 words):
More and more people nowadays make new friends in the internet. They use social networks like Facebook to meet other people and they stay for hours in front of their computers, using the keyboard and the webcam to communicate. Personally, I think that this way of meeting your friends has some advantages, but also some negative side-effects. It is possible to meet people from all over the world, and you have the possibility to talk to friends who live in other countries. The problem is that sometimes you use the internet not only to talk to a friend who lives, for example, in England, but also to communicate with someone who lives near to your house. I don't like it. I still prefer to have “real” friends and meet them in a “real” place, and not in the virtual coldness of the internet. What do you think? Write a 50-word comment on this article and post it in the “COMMENTS” section of the blog. Write your opinion and also a personal experience (it can be yours or of a friend of yours). If your comment is not the first, read your classmates' comments and reply to what they wrote. If you don't understand a word you can use the BABYLON or CAMBRIDGE dictionaries on the right. You can also click on the blue words in bold to check the Spanish translation. Remember that this is a quiz, so do it the best you can. Everybody will be able to read it, because this is a public site; so revise your comment several times before posting it. Don't use online translation programmes; if you do it, your composition will be grades 0.0. You have time to post it until Wednesday the 7th of July, at 11.59p.m. Comments posted after this time will be graded 0.0. Dear students,
remember that next Tuesday (the 6th of July, 2010) you shall have to take the midterm test. You can use the following links to practise:
Please, use also the links that I posted to practise for the quiz you took last Thursday. Good Luck |
