ALESSIO'S HOMEPAGE
Dear students,
In this page, you will find all the necessary information about the courses I teach at the Language Institute (UIS). Its purpose is to provide you with extra materials from the internet (didactic sites, dictionaries, videos, mass media, etc.), in order to ease your learning process, but also to create a place where you can interact with me and with your fellow students, in order to put your communicative skills to the test.
The site is organized into different pages (see the menu on the left), which can be subdivided into two main categories:
I hope you will like it. Needless to say, I'm open to critiques and suggestions (you can use the form below to get in touch with me), so don't be shy. This is OUR space: let's make it better together.

- Pages containing general information for all the groups (in the upper part of the menu):
- Dictionaries. Here you will find some of the best dictionaries available online. There are two categories: monolingual and bilingual. Each link is accompanied by a brief description.
- Practice & Exercises. A collection of websites where you can practise the four language abilities (listening, reading, writing and speaking). Again, the links are organized into different sections, according to the content; for example, under the heading “LISTENING” you will find specific exercises to help you improve your listening skills. As well as the dictionaries, each site comes with a brief description and an explanation about how to make the best out of it.
- Mass Media. Links to newspapers, magazines, TVs and radios from the English speaking world.
- Pages devised to address the specific needs of each group and level (in the lower part of the menu):
- General information pages. Here you will find specific information about your course and level (extension or curricular): exam dates and percentages, schedule, rules about attendance, etc. There is also a contact form to make contact with the teacher. When you use it, I will receive your message directly to my email account. Make sure you choose the correct page. For example, if you are attending English A1.2, click the icon “English A1.2 – General information”. CE1 stands for "Curricular English 1"
- Blogs. Each course (extension or curricular) has a dedicated blog. For example, if you are attending English A1.2, click the icon “English A1.2 – Blog”. These blogs have been devised as a space where you can communicate and exchange your ideas with your classmates, and also to make contact with the teacher, so please leave a comment or message whenever you have something to say. From time to time, I will post texts and videos, and you will have to comment on them. Some of these assignments may be evaluated as quizzes. You can also use it to check the assigned homework or any news regarding your course.
- Videos. A collection of didactic videos divided per level, to help you revise what you studied in the classroom.
I hope you will like it. Needless to say, I'm open to critiques and suggestions (you can use the form below to get in touch with me), so don't be shy. This is OUR space: let's make it better together.
